ERG celebrates King’s Award with presentation at its West Sussex headquarters

ERG Air Pollution Control has celebrated its King’s Award for Enterprise 2026 in International Trade with a formal presentation at its headquarters in Slinfold, Horsham, West Sussex.

Lady Emma Barnard, Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex and His Majesty The King’s personal representative in the county, visited ERG to present the award alongside Dame Shelagh Legrave, DBE, DL, Deputy Lieutenant of West Sussex.

The visit brought ERG colleagues together to mark the achievement and welcome guests including Paul Lagrave, West Sussex Lieutenancy Officer, and Councillor Joanne Knowles, Chairman of Horsham District Council.

The award recognises ERG’s growth in exporting engineered air pollution and odour control systems to industrial and infrastructure clients worldwide. Its international work supports customers managing complex emissions and meeting environmental requirements, including at major wastewater treatment sites in the Middle East.

Over the past three years, ERG has invested in developing and proving its biotrickling filter and catalytic activated carbon technologies for hot climates. These systems remove hydrogen sulphide and control odours, helping customers meet demanding treatment requirements while keeping operating costs low.

The presentation provided an opportunity to recognise the contribution of the people behind that work, from developing treatment technologies to delivering projects and supporting customers internationally.

Richard Hanson said, “Receiving the King’s Award at our Slinfold headquarters is a proud moment for everyone at ERG. It gives us the opportunity to honour this achievement together and recognise the expertise, commitment and hard work of our team.

“Our international growth is built on understanding our customers’ challenges and engineering solutions they can depend on. We’re grateful to our colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners who have helped make this possible.”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise acknowledge outstanding achievement by UK businesses. ERG’s award in the International Trade category allows the company to use the King’s Awards emblem for five years.
