Many air pollution abatement systems need to treat a complex, varying cocktail of noxious contaminants in a single exhaust stream. ERG designs and supplies integrated gas cleaning systems that handle combinations of halogenated, nitrogen‑containing and sulphur‑containing gases alongside particulates, VOCs, sticky tars and silicates, delivering reliable emissions compliance and robust operation.
Typical contaminant combinations include halogenated species (for example Cl₂, HCl, HF, HBr), nitrogen‑containing species (for example NH₃, HCN) and sulphur‑containing species (for example H₂S, SO₂, mercaptans), often present together with sub‑micron particulates, VOCs, sticky tars and silicates. ERG’s process design team develops solutions based on the specific contamination profile in each vent stream, rather than treating individual species in isolation.
By combining wet scrubbing, gas cooling, particulate removal and, where required, thermal oxidation or adsorption stages, ERG can design a treatment train that addresses all major contaminant groups and meets site‑specific emission limits.
Drawing on the full range of technologies listed under the Technologies tab – including packed towers, V‑tex® scrubbers, venturi scrubbers, tray towers, quench vessels, sub‑coolers, carbon filters and thermal oxidisers – ERG configures multi‑stage abatement systems to match process and project requirements. Where appropriate, additional unit operations such as ceramic filters, candle filters and specialised polishing stages are incorporated from approved partner companies to address fine particulates or specific contaminants.
Each package is engineered to suit the duty, taking into account gas composition, flowrate, temperature, variability and future operating scenarios, with defined performance guarantees for the overall system.
