Design Contracts

System design contracts for industrial air pollution control systems

ERG provides system design contracts for industrial air pollution control systems and odour control systems, ranging from straightforward design‑and‑build projects to optioneering and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contracts. These services support technology selection, layout development and cost definition for new gas cleaning systems and for upgrades to existing air pollution control assets.

Core design capabilities

We have extensive design capabilities covering process, mechanical and electrical aspects of air pollution control systems. In addition to straightforward design‑and‑build projects, our clients benefit from:

  • 3D modelling of all packages – we model using Plant 3D and export as .dwg and Navisworks.
  • BIM integration where project requirements demand it.
  • Optioneering and FEED contracts for new and existing plant.

All design‑and‑build contracts include a complete set of design deliverables as standard. All ERG design is backed by our Professional Indemnity Insurance, and CVs of ERG’s design team are available on request.

Optioneering and FEED (Front End Engineering Design) contracts

Sometimes clients don’t have a fully developed procurement specification for their new air pollution control system or odour control system, or wish to explore different technology or cost options. There is often pressure to improve the environmental impact of existing manufacturing and production sites – new processes requiring additional treatment, new housing or commercial developments close to the site boundary, or older gas cleaning systems reaching the end of their service life.

ERG can help define the available options for upgrading existing air pollution control and odour control assets and the preliminary engineering to allow formal project budgets to be set or released for implementation. We provide competitively priced design work carried out by our team of graduate and chartered engineers. In each case, the design output is tailored to meet the needs of the project – typical deliverables include:

  • Summary report identifying the available options for reusing/upgrading air pollution control assets versus providing new system(s).
  • Details of the technical and construction pros and cons of each option.
  • Indicative CapEx and OpEx costings for major options.
  • Preliminary engineering design for the selected option – input to the formal project specification for the gas cleaning or VOC abatement system.
