Our solutions combine proven scrubber technologies, packed towers, dry media filters and thermal oxidisers into integrated abatement systems configured for specific gas flows, contaminant loadings and site constraints.
Each system is designed to deliver stable removal of acid gases, particulates and VOCs while optimising energy, water and chemical consumption over the full asset life.
ERG provides complete gas cleaning solutions for a wide range of industries and applications, drawing on almost 50 years’ experience and hundreds of reference plants.
All systems are backed by a performance guarantee aligned to the site or process emissions permit and are engineered to meet the detailed process and project specifications.
Across these sectors, ERG designs air pollution control systems to treat a wide range of contaminants, including acid gases, halogens, particulates, aerosols, odorous compounds and VOCs from batch and continuous processes.
ERG applies a range of wet and dry gas cleaning technologies as part of integrated industrial emissions control systems, including:
Packed tower scrubbers and tray scrubbers for acid gas and soluble contaminant removal
Venturi scrubbers and high‑efficiency separators for combined particulate and gas‑phase abatement
Dry media filters and carbon filters for polishing removal of specific compounds and VOCs
Quench systems and sub‑coolers for gas conditioning prior to downstream treatment
These gas cleaning systems are applied to process vents, reactor off‑gas, tank venting, material handling and general process exhausts, and are designed to meet the required emission limits and stack conditions defined in permits and BAT/BREF guidance.
Where higher concentration organic vapours or stringent VOC limits apply, ERG designs and supplies thermal oxidation systems as part of the overall air pollution control solution. Thermal oxidisers are configured to match the required destruction efficiency, flow rate and calorific value of the process stream, and can be integrated with heat recovery to improve overall energy efficiency.
These thermal systems can operate as stand‑alone VOC abatement units or in combination with upstream gas cleaning stages, ensuring both organic and inorganic pollutants are controlled within permit limits.
Whether you require a skid‑mounted package, a simple fume scrubber, a thermal oxidation system or a complex multi‑stage gas cleaning system, ERG engineers a cost‑effective solution matched to your duty. Typical supply scopes include process design, equipment sizing, materials selection, fans and ductwork design, control systems, structural supports and access, and integration with existing plant.
Each industrial gas cleaning or thermal system is supplied with defined performance guarantees for key pollutants, pressure drop and energy consumption, aligned with your site’s emissions permit and project specification.
Acid gases and water‑soluble pollutants are typically treated using packed tower or tray scrubbers, often combined with venturi scrubbers, where particulate removal is also required. The final configuration depends on inlet loading, target emission limit, available pressure drop and compatibility with the upstream process.
Thermal oxidisers are preferred for high‑concentration or variable VOC streams, or where very high destruction efficiencies are required, and heat recovery can be utilised. Scrubber‑based VOC abatement is more common for lower concentration, more soluble or mixed pollutant streams, where wet gas cleaning can address both inorganic and organic components.
Industrial gas cleaning systems can be retrofitted by adding extraction points, ductwork and appropriately sized scrubbers, filters or thermal oxidisers to existing equipment. Layout constraints, tie‑in locations, available utilities and constructability are assessed during design to minimise disruption to production during installation.
