Kingspan

Client: Kingspan
Location: North Wales
Application: Flue gas treatment from building cladding panel fire testing
Pollutants: Particulate, acid fume and unburnt VOCs
Technology: Venturi scrubber and carbon filtration
Installed: 2020

ERG supplied an integrated flue gas treatment system for Kingspan’s building cladding panel Fire Test Facility in North Wales.

The system was designed to treat flue gases containing particulate, acid fume and unburnt volatile organic compounds (VOCs) generated during fire testing.

The treatment system incorporated a variable-throat Venturi and cyclone separator, providing the primary wet gas treatment stage, together with a carbon filter as part of the overall emissions control system.

ERG’s equipment scope also included the associated pump and pipework, caustic dosing package, fan and silencer, discharge stack, instrumentation and controls.

Equipment supplied

  • Variable-throat Venturi and cyclone separator
  • Carbon filter
  • Caustic dosing package
  • Pump and pipework
  • Fan and silencer
  • Discharge stack
  • Instrumentation and controls

The combination of wet scrubbing and carbon filtration provided an integrated treatment solution for the different contaminants identified in the fire-test flue gas.
