Thermal Oxidiser for Graphite Manufacturing – Mersen, Scotland
ERG designed and supplied a thermal oxidation system for Mersen’s graphite insulation manufacturing facility in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The system was developed to treat furnace off-gases generated during the manufacturing process, providing thermal destruction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
ERG’s scope included a thermal oxidiser with a multi-stream inlet gas manifold, together with high-temperature gas-tight process ductwork and control valves. The complete system also incorporated a natural gas-fired burner package, process fans, discharge stack and integrated control panel.
The project required the thermal oxidiser and associated gas-handling equipment to operate as a fully integrated process gas treatment system.
